BJP Still Wants Pawan's Friendship

During the 2014 general elections, the BJP received an elixir in the form of Jana Sena Party President Pawan Kalyan, whose support and whirlwind campaign helped the ruling party win a few seats in both the Telugu states.

However, following BJP's backtrack on its 2014 poll promise of special status to Andhra Pradesh, Pawan has been waging a war against the BJP's state and central leaders, including  Narendra Modi and BJP AP In-charge Siddharth Nath Singh on issues like Special Status and Demonetization.

Despite Pawan's constant rants and clear hints of snapping ties with the BJP, the BJP seems to be in no mood to distance itself from Pawan in AP. In view of Pawan's Uttaradhra tour which will start from 2nd January, the BJP AP In-charge Siddharth Nath Singh met with senior BJP leaders from the region.

Siddhartha Nath Singh also told media that BJP is keen on working with Pawan Kalyan in the future and rubbished any political differences with the Jana Sena commander. Now that the BJP has sent feelers, it will be interesting to see if Pawan would rejoin hands with the BJP or wage a lone battle in 2019.
