Intlo Deyyam Nakem Bhayam Movie Review
Allari Naresh who has been running through lean patch in his career has tried his hand at horror comedy to put an end to his flop streak. However, G. Nageswara Reddy let him down with stale script that tests the audience patience with repetitive comedy scenes.
What is it about?
A girl called Swapna (Mouryani) gets killed in a farmhouse. She turns into ghost and scares people that visit the house. So the owner decide to sell it off and a rich man (Rajendra Prasad) buys it hoping that he could conduct his daughter's marriage in that bungalow. But he encounters the ghost on the very first night that he spends in the house. He mistakenly contacts Naresh (Allari Naresh) thinking he is a ghost buster. Naresh who is in dire need of money Okays the deal and fakes his identity. It turns out to be a nightmare for Naresh as he cannot get out of the house as the ghost has feelings for him. What happens next?
Performances:
Naresh has nothing much to do in this film where the characters are mere caricatures. In spite of his best efforts all Naresh could do is stand and watch the film fall flat on its face. Kruthika is unexpressive and so is Mouryani. Rajendra Prasad doesn't add any value to the star cast. He is wasted in a badly written role. Brahmanandam's cameo didn't click. Shakalaka Shankar is getting repetitive. Chammak Chandra has a limited role.
Technicalities:
Nageswara Reddy who has a knack of delivering mass comedies seems to be running out of fuel. His last film Aatadukundam Raa was awful and here he totally fails as a writer. There are a few scenes that offer few laughs, but those are not enough to save it from sinking at the box office.
Music by Sai Karthik is below average. Songs are lavishly shot in lush locations, but they will only be useful as cigarette breaks for the smokers. Dialogues lacked wit. Cinematography is pretty standard. Editing could have been better as scenes get repetitive especially during the second half. Production values are okay but wonder why BVSN Prasad made this film in the first place.

Analysis:
Intlo Deyyam Nakem Bhayam follows the template of a typical horror comedy. It checks every box of the genre clichés right from the word go. Despite the beaten to death setup IDNB seems okay at the start. First half is passable in spite of routine scenes, but the second half turns into a bore fest with silly situations.
Two guys kill an innocent girl and she turns into a ghost and takes revenge against them. How many times have you seen these scenes? Nageswara Reddy believes that this would still work if he laces it up with comedy. Lazy writing and utter lack of creativity makes this a painful watch.
Even the talented star cast couldn't save the film because of the awful writing. The film is a failure on the writing table itself. This should have been rejected in the script stage only. Allari Naresh might have blindly believed in Nageswara Reddy's capabilities of pulling off a mass comedy. But the director himself is totally out of form at the moment.
Telugu cinema has milked the horror comedy genre to the maximum. Only Lawrence has been able to get the best results out of it with his Muni series. It appears easy to make a horror comedy, but not all can dish out a successful one. Nageswara Reddy and Naresh learned it the hard way.
